How the Library works

The Library is the single home for everything Omnymous knows about your brand and everything the AI makes from it. This page covers the ideas and controls every Library page shares, so the rest of the section reads fast.

The four sections

Open Library in the sidebar and you’ll find four sections, each with its own guide:

Products — your catalog, synced from Shopify or added by hand. Everything else traces back to a product. See Products.
Knowledge — what the AI reads before it writes: market research, brand facts, customer reviews and surveys. See Knowledge.
Variables — the marketing pieces the AI builds: customer avatars, marketing angles, ad copy, actors, page copy and offers. See Variables.
Assets — your images and video. See Assets.

Everything builds on something

This is the idea that makes the Library work: pieces are built from other pieces. A Marketing Angle is built for a product and a customer avatar. Ad copy is built from an angle. Creatives are built from copy. Because of that chain, every ad you run traces back to who it targets and why — which is exactly what powers the performance breakdowns in Creatives analytics.

You feel this the moment you create something. When a new piece needs other pieces, its Dependencies tab carries a Requirements checklist, and the Create button stays off until you’ve met it. The Add panel is split into tabs — the content or upload, Properties, and Dependencies — so switch to Dependencies to see what’s still needed.

Here, adding a Marketing Angle needs two things — a Product and a Customer Avatar. On the Dependencies tab the checklist reads 0/2, each row says required, and the footer shows Select 2 required items with Create greyed out. Choose a product and an avatar and the rows turn green, the count fills, and Create lights up.

You don’t have to hunt for what a piece needs — the Requirements checklist on the Dependencies tab spells it out, and each row jumps you straight to the picker for that item.

Editing is protected

Because pieces build on each other, changing one could quietly change the meaning of everything downstream. So Omnymous locks any piece that others build on.

Open a locked piece and press Edit and, instead of a form, you’ll see why it can’t change yet.

The panel reads Locked while in use and lists everything that depends on it under Used by — here, the Science-backed results angle has eleven pieces of copy built on it. To edit it, detach those dependents first (or edit the copies instead), then come back. Press Close to back out.

Deleting works the same way. If a piece has dependents, the confirm button becomes Delete Anyway and warns you first; delete it regardless and each dependent shows a Deleted Item placeholder where the piece used to be.

Delete Anyway can’t be undone. Anything that was built from the deleted piece keeps a Deleted Item placeholder in its make-up until you fix it.

Folders and views

Every section works the same way once you’re inside it.

Folders — the breadcrumb on the left starts at the home icon; click into folders to drill down and click a crumb to jump back. Use New folder to organize.
Grid or list — toggle between the picture grid and a denser list with the two buttons on the right of the toolbar.
Sort — the sort control (default Modified) reorders by name, date, and more.

Search that understands your Library

The search box does plain text, but it also understands your Library’s structure. Type a filter as key:value and combine as many as you like with free text. Click the sliders icon beside the box to see them all.

The popover splits filters into two groups:

Field Filters narrow by a piece’s own properties: name:, type: (e.g. type:hook), status: (e.g. status:ready), product:, category: and more.
Relational Filters search by how pieces connect — the part that makes this Library special:
- partof: — what’s inside a piece’s make-up.
- contains: (also has:) — find pieces whose make-up includes a given item.
- usedby: (also campaign:) — pieces used by a campaign.
- source: (also batch:) — pieces from one generation run.

Combine freely: type:hook status:ready finds your ready-to-use hooks; add free text to narrow further.

Selecting several at once

Tick the circle on any card to start a selection. A bar slides up from the bottom with the number selected and the actions that apply to them all:

Move to folder — file them together.
Download — save them (several files come down as a zip).
Delete — remove them, with the same dependent warning as a single delete.

Press Esc to clear the selection.

Who can do what

Viewers can browse, preview and download everything, but can’t change it.
Members and up can create, edit, import, move and delete.

When your role can’t do something, the button is greyed out and its tooltip says why — for example Requires the Member role.

Troubleshooting

The Create button won’t turn on. A required piece is still missing. Open the Dependencies tab, check the Requirements checklist and the Select… hint next to the button, then pick what’s listed.

I can’t edit or delete a piece. It’s Locked while in use — other pieces are built on it. Open Used by, detach those dependents (or edit the copies instead), then try again.

A piece shows “Deleted Item” in its make-up. Something it was built from was deleted with Delete Anyway. Open the piece and swap in a replacement.

My buttons are greyed out. Your role is read-only. Creating and editing needs the Member role or higher — ask an owner or admin to upgrade you (see Team & roles).
