What Reconnaissance reads
Reconnaissance reads the ads other brands run on Meta, finds the ones selling what you sell, and breaks them into the pieces your Library holds.
Four parts, read left to right and then down: the Meta Ad Library, where every ad other brands run is read; your arena, the brands that sell what you sell; their strategy, their ads read into avatars, angles, hooks and offers; and Briefs, where each play in your market is measured against your own Library, gaps first.
Reconnaissance is the part of Omnymous that watches your market. It reads the ads other brands run, keeps the ones that sell what you sell, and puts their thinking in your own words: the same kinds of pieces your Library holds, so a competitor's angle can sit beside yours and be compared with it.
In short
- Reconnaissance reads the Meta Ad Library, Meta's public archive of the ads running on Facebook and Instagram.
- It matches what each ad sells to your products. The brands that come close are your arena.
- For a brand you track, it reads its ads into avatars, angles, hooks and offers, and Briefs measures each against what you already run.
Where the ads come from
Every ad Omnymous reads from the Meta Ad Library lands in one collection, the corpus, that Explore shows whole. For each ad it keeps the creative, its copy, the button it carries and the page it sends the buyer to, the day it launched, how long it has run, and how many variants of it run at once.
Meta does not publish what these ads spend. Reconnaissance reads an ad's staying power instead: a brand that keeps paying for one creative for more than 180 days has found something that works, and a creative running in several variants is still being tested.
Your arena
Reconnaissance reads what each ad sells and compares it with your products, at three levels: the same product, the same niche, or the same category. The brands whose ads come close are your arena. The demo store's arena is 8 brands with 150 relevant ads.
The arena is what Relevant to you narrows Explore to, and what the Roster in Briefs lists under Selling what you sell, with the product of yours each brand sells against.
Their strategy, in your words
To read a brand's thinking, track it. Omnymous then reads its ads every day and draws its strategy map: the avatars it speaks to, the angles it argues, the hooks it reuses and the offers it runs, each one quoted from the ads that carry it. The map is drawn on your own AI keys. The Roster gives the price before you track a brand, and a brand someone has already mapped costs nothing.

Measured against your Library
Briefs gathers the pieces that several brands in your arena run into market plays, and sets each against the items of the same kind in your Library. A play nothing of yours answers, run by several brands, is a gap; one only a single brand runs is on the watchlist; one you already run something close to is answered. What you run and nobody in your arena does is uncontested.
From there, any piece can be saved to Swipe or imported into your Library, tied to one of your products, and handed to Studio.
