# Keyboard shortcuts

Every key Omnymous answers to, by where you are in the app: search, the Library, Omni, Studio, the page editor and the Launcher.

On a Mac, press `Cmd` where this page says `Ctrl`: the app shows each key as your computer names it. The keys of a screen do not act while you type in one of its fields.

## Everywhere

| Key          | What it does                                                                                                          |
| ------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Ctrl` + `K` | Opens search: products, campaigns, Library items, runs and stores, and any screen. On a Mac, `Cmd` + `K`.             |
| `Ctrl` + `B` | Folds the sidebar and the top bar away, so the screen has all the room. Press it again, or `Esc`, to bring them back. |
| `Esc`        | Closes the window or panel on top: a dialog, a menu, a side panel.                                                    |

## In search

| Key             | What it does                    |
| --------------- | ------------------------------- |
| `Up` and `Down` | Move through the matches.       |
| `Enter`         | Opens the match, or the screen. |
| `Esc`           | Closes search.                  |

## On screens with a search field

| Key          | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                                   |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Ctrl` + `F` | Puts you in the screen’s own search, in place of the browser’s: in the Library, Explore, Briefs, Swipe, the Lab, Campaign Performance, and the team under **Workspace**. In Omni, it opens your conversations. |
| `Esc`        | Clears the search.                                                                                                                                                                                             |

## In a Library item

| Key            | What it does                            |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| `J` or `Right` | The next item.                          |
| `K` or `Left`  | The previous item.                      |
| `E`            | Edits the item, where it can be edited. |
| `Esc`          | Closes it.                              |

## In Omni

| Key               | What it does              |
| ----------------- | ------------------------- |
| `Enter`           | Sends your question.      |
| `Shift` + `Enter` | Starts a new line in it.  |
| `Ctrl` + `F`      | Opens your conversations. |

When you rename a conversation, `Enter` keeps the name and `Esc` drops it.

| --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `/`                                     | Opens the list of cards to add.                              |
| `B`                                     | Adds a brief.                                                |
| `V` and `H`                             | The select tool and the hand tool, which moves the board.    |
| `Enter`                                 | Runs the selected cards.                                     |
| `Ctrl` + `Z` and `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `Z` | Undo and redo.                                               |
| `Ctrl` + `D`                            | Duplicates the selection.                                    |
| `Ctrl` + `A`                            | Selects every card.                                          |
| `Delete` or `Backspace`                 | Removes the selection.                                       |
| `Shift` + `1`                           | Fits the whole board in view.                                |
| `Shift` + `T`                           | Turns Auto layout on or off.                                 |
| `Shift` + `R`                           | Switches between the board and its runs.                     |
| `Esc`                                   | Closes what is open on the board, then clears the selection. |

## In the page editor

| Key     | What it does                                                                            |
| ------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Enter` | Keeps the text you are editing on the page.                                             |
| `Esc`   | Drops the text you are editing; with nothing being edited, clears the selected section. |

## In the Launcher

| Key   | What it does                               |
| ----- | ------------------------------------------ |
| `Esc` | Closes the panel that **Breakdown** opens. |
